In equilibrium

Martina's Gallery

According to Soren Kierkegaard – danish philosopher, theologian and writer – to dare is to lose on’s footing momentarily, not to dare is to lose oneself. This brief quote is perfectly akin to Martina’s Gallery state of mind.
The Gallery, founded in 2015, face the world of international Art without a prefabricated format or setup. Our approach is to be fearless, courageous, to seek, try, believe and understand all is new and fresh. In italy, a country where traditions are culturally radicated, it’s extremely difficult to be bold and go against the flow of a grounded artistic way, but it’s right in this situation we can lose our “footing”, by saying no to the establishment, homogeneity and peer pressure.
In equilibrium is the title of this exposition project that sees four artists as its main characters: Anna Turina, Martin Whatson, Pure Evil, Stikki Peaches. In this miscellaneous choice we can find famous names of the international scenery, becoming exponent of a broader consideration in their contents. To dare means, for undetermined time, to be on precarious balance between truth and doubt. Nothing ventured nothing gained, that’s how you get lost in yourself. To lose yourself means to feel your way in the dark, not knowing what to do, reaching out with your hands, blinded, walking lost timelessly.
In equilibrium is food for thought, about the actual unbalanced condition of our own reality, our dare today to achieve our goals tomorrow. Four Artists, four nations, four different ways to think and create.
