In the early years of learning the various techniques of painting, Annemarie Ambrosoli was a student of Maestro Ercole Frigoli and under his leadership deepened the technique of painting of landscapes “en plain air”. Main influences for her artistic career were the masters of Impressionism, Post-Impressionism and Fauvism. Her favorite oil technique in the early years of learning was color fastness, leaving the various layers to dry, thenlater painting with dense and matte color representing landscapes, preferring the spring and autumn period, for the infinite colors that the landscape conveyed to her. Her aim was to paint landscapes, using nature as a model for depicting color schemes on canvas.
Works that should be looked at for a long time to capture the message they contain.
The artistic process always starts with a good idea, which is then developed in the drawing. The study of the subject is very accurate.
Annemarie Ambrosoli plays with color, form and lines in her figurative geometrical compositions of men, women and children in half-length, exploring human beings and all kinds of relationships between men and women. The figures in her works are telling stories, moments of real-life and always testing the viewer to stimulate and to explore their own introspection.
The preferred medium is oil, but she also paints with other techniques like watercolor, acrylic, gouache, pastel, and more.
Annemarie Ambrosoli was lucky to be tutored, from early age, by her uncle Ercole Frigoli. She attended also courses at the International summer academy of Art in Bruneck (South-Tyrol) 1992/1996 under the guidance of academic professors Claus Pack for landscape and Reinhard Adlmannseder for “figure and nude”.
